The story of this serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai revolves around Akshara, who was an independent woman who got married to Naitik. Naitik was a businessman and he treated her badly as it was against her will. In time, they became close and protected each other through many difficulties. Akshara got pregnant and a baby girl was born named Naira. Naitik lost his memory due to a car accident and later fell into a coma.
